LA Fires Anniversary

A year has passed since the Eaton and Palisades wildfires devastated entire neighborhoods including Altadena, Pasadena, the Pacific Palisades and surrounding communities. Many families are still struggling to rebuild homes, replace essential household items, and navigate delayed insurance claims. Local organizations are working tirelessly to help survivors recover and reimagine the future — and your support can help them continue this critical work.
REBUILD.US is a fundraising, grantmaking, and storytelling platform, moving funds in 48 hours of a disaster activation to experienced, local leaders who are in community both before the disaster strikes and long after the headlines fade. REBUILD stays with communities through the long haul of recovery — from responding and rebuilding to reimagining.
For January, our Month of Response & REBUILDing for the LA Wildfires Anniversary will amplify and add capacity to the efforts of local-led and survivor-led organizations who best know the needs on the ground.
We’re raising funds for wraparound support as people are struggling to get back on their feet and facing barriers to returning home — from toiletries and cash cards, to soil testing kits, technical assistance, and insurance claim workshops, to trauma healing support. REBUILD is also hosting a virtual press conference led by LA disaster survivors to link systemic issues exacerbated by climate disaster to large-scale, lasting solutions, such as a better FEMA and insurance industry overhaul.
Our local REBUILD Ready partners include CA Black Power Network, Essie Justice Group, Evolve Altadena, LA Voice, Pasadena Community Jobs Center, Project Passion, and Pasadenans Organizing for Progress.
